McCallum’s Mill Road - Oparara Basin Access Road - CLOSURE
The road will be closed to the public Mondays to Fridays between the 16/10/24 until the 29/11/2024 but will open on weekends and public holidays. Road works to repair McCullum's Mill Road, Oparara Basin Access, will commence on Monday the 7th of October 2024 through to 29th of November 2024. Heavy vehicles trucks excavators will be operating on the road during this period. Drive carefully and follow all instructions when driving on the road during this period.
The road will be open between the 14/11/2024 until 19/11/2024 allowing public access as part of the Karamea 150-year celebration taking place during the weekend of November 15th.
Honeycomb Hill Cave/Arch Tours will continue to operate during the closure period 16/10 – 29/11 Please contact the Karamea Information & Resource Centre for details.

Public access to the 'Honeycomb Hill Specially Protected Area' is restricted to DOC (Department of Conservation) approved guided tours only, due to the delicate ecological nature of the area.
